Selected upon admission to the College as one of 14 entering students to participate in The University Scholars program .The program is focused on undergraduate research and provides funding for creative research ideas throughout the undergraduate years.

 

Penn Graduate Design Challenge

Semifinalist with Recharge: The Power of Joe - a  smart, portable coffee maker that runs off of used coffee grounds to create the perfect cup of coffee every time. It featured intuitive interactions powered by a thermoelectric generator and recycled, green fuel. 

 

Monterey Institute of International Studies – Middlebury College

Intensive Spanish Language Course covering two years of Spanish in an eight week course.

 

Deerfield Academy

Deerfield, MA • Sept. 2009 – June 2013

Cum Laude (top 10% of class), founded a nonprofit corporation that installed three major environmental art exhibits, finalist in sophomore and junior declamations, cellist in school orchestra, and participated in lacrosse, skiing, and squash.

EXPERIENCE

 

Founder of Action Art Inc.

Deerfield, MA • Fall 2010 – Present

• Founded an environmental art nonprofit organization and raised over $50,000 to fund the installation “The Little White House Project: Dwell in Possibility” that was exhibited at Deerfield Academy, the Emily Dickinson Museum, and Hampshire College.

• Developing a new project and proposal that will be exhibited around Philadelphia in 2016.

 

Sanborn Construction

Big Sur, CA • Summer 2015

Worked on all aspects of building trade which included: completing CAD drawings for a proposed bridge replacement, assisting in the installation of electrical and plumbing systems, framing, sheeting, and insulating a house, setting forms, and assisting in the pouring of a foundation.

 

Internship at BRB Architecture

New York, NY • Summer 2012

• Worked closely with Partner Bob Vuyosevic on current and upcoming projects.

• Helped with site visits around the city and was actively engaged in the design and planning process.

 

Featured Speaker at Franklin County Art and Economy Summit

Greenfield, MA • March 2012

• Presented on the founding and purpose of Action art Inc. along with details of recent exhibits in front of a diverse group of artists, educators, business people, and non-profit organizers.

 

California Condor Project – Ventana Wilderness Society

Big Sur, CA • Summer 2011

• Worked with biologists and naturalists feeding and monitoring California Condors in Monterey County.

BACKGROUND

 

Design – Throughout my life, I have been actively involved in designing and building. I have completed a number of products, sculptures, pieces of furniture, and buildings. 

 

Auto Enthusiast – I have always had a passion for cars and I am currently building a rally car for the Rally America series.

• NASA Rally License and 2 Coefficient Rally America License - Completed at Dirtfish Rally School

• SCAA Regional License - Completed at Bondurant Racing School 

 

Scuba Diving -I have been scuba diving since the age of 13 and have seven diving certifications. I have also studied underwater photography and have completed photo projects on the coral reefs of Fiji.

 

Cello - I have been playing the cello since the age of four and have played solo and in orchestras throughout my life.

 

Fisherman - I enjoy deep sea fishing and have the goal of catching and releasing all species of the billfish.
